Small Victories Wine is made by Jules and Bec, two sisters who have worked together in the wine industry for 12+ years. Together they decided it was time to team up and make a range of wines that they and their friends love to drink. Wines that are fun, fresh and modern; wines that are ready to drink right now; wines that are just seriously delicious!
We took Small Victories through our brand naming strategy to create a memorable, meaningful brand name that would resonate with 25-40 year old, inner city, fashionable females. Through a combination of competitor & market research and stakeholder interviews we generated over 50+ potential names, which we narrowed down to a shortlist of 12 before deciding upon ‘Small Victories’ which evolved from their mantra ‘drink early’, which we interpreted as the act of celebrating the moment and small victories daily, allow yourself to be proud of each achievement along the way, no matter how small you think it might be.
Now that we had a brand name, it was time to work on the visual identity. We created 3 moodboards to visual communicate three alternative visual directions, through an open, collaborative discussion with Jules, Bec and the key Small Victories stakeholders, we were succesfully able to determine the visual direction for the brand.
The logo design for Small Victories had to resemble the wine; distinctive, memorable and fun with a touch of class, we were able to achieve this balance by drawing the logo mark in a traditional, classic style whilst bringing in some fun along with the brand story by incorporating two ladies (Jules and Bec) who appear to be helping each other carry a novelty sized wine glass.
Starting with the brand style guide, we used the guide to create a variety of brand assets for Small Victories, everything from social media graphic templates that were able to be used on various social media networks which could easily be updated internally by the Small Victories team, whilst maintaining consistency to a series of wine label designs.
